How to write a Book Review

We'd love to hear your thoughts on the books you're reading!

Here are the instructions to write a book review:

It's not that hard. Step 1 is to grab a notecard (or a piece of paper will do).

Step 2: Write your name, level & coach’s name at the top of the page too.

Be sure to include the book title and author below.

(Was it written by Shakespeare or Edgar Allan Poe?)

On a scale from 1-10, give your book a rating.

(10 being the best, and 1 being a book you detest.)

Finally, write 1-2 sentences of what you thought about the book.

(Give your opinion. Did it leave you hooked? Or would you not give it another look?)

After all that is done, make like a flamingo and fly to the Welcome Center to complete your Reading BINGO squares!

How to draw a Book Illustration

We'd love to see your artwork inspired by the books you're reading!

Here are the instructions to draw a book illustration:

Grab a piece of paper.

Write your name, level & coach’s name somewhere on the page (front or back -- it's up to you).

Be sure to include the book title and author as well.

Create your masterpiece with pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, or any other artistic tools you'd like! Draw a scene from the book, recreate the front cover, or anything you can imagine (related to the book)

Bring your illustrations to the Welcome Center to complete your Reading BINGO squares!
