November Newsletter

Dear Liberty Community,

We hope you are all enjoying the cool weather, the changing color of leaves, and holiday magic!

Liberty Gymnastics continues to adapt to Contra Costa County's evolving guidelines for how we can operate under COVID-19 and what types of programs we can offer.

New Mask Policy

Due to the recent spike and upward trend in COVID-19 cases in Contra Costa County, Liberty will be transitioning to face mask required at all times (except when eating/drinking) for all students. We encourage all students to start wearing masks immediately, but have allowed some transition time.

Effective Monday, November 30th (start of Session 10), Liberty Gymnastics will require masks to be worn by all students (and staff) at all times until further notice.

Thank You, TNT Carpet Cleaning!

A crisis like COVID-19 is a call to action for businesses that truly care about their communities.

TNT Carpet Cleaning is one of those businesses.

TNT has made a generous contribution to Liberty Gymnastics to help sustain us during this extremely challenging time.

“We made this donation specifically for the kids,” says TNT co-owner Michael San Giovanni. “We like to support programs that make kids stronger and more educated, especially programs like gymnastics that challenge kids to develop an inner talent.”

“During COVID, it’s so important for kids to get physical activity and socialize in a structured safe environment like Liberty’s. We want to help kids experience the wonderful facility that Liberty has worked so hard to create.”

Please support caring and compassionate businesses like TNT Carpet Cleaning.

Liberty Gymnastics - Looking Back

unnamed (1).jpg

To help celebrate Liberty's 15-year anniversary, we present a brief tour through the rich history of our gym before it became Liberty Gymnastics in 2005.

As you'll learn, 2330-A Bates Avenue has hosted some extremely high-profile athletes, coaches, and competitions over the years!

Our tour guide is Ron Bell, a gymnast at UC Berkeley during the mid-1970's. With over 40 years of local coaching experience, Ron serves as the informal historian of East Bay gymnastics. He coached at Liberty during 2017-18.

Kids Club at The Veranda

Liberty Gymnastics is co-sponsoring the 2020-21 Kids Club at The Veranda Shopping Center in Concord.

Kids Club takes place on the third Sunday of every month at the Veranda's Fountain Plaza. We offer super-fun, family-friendly outdoor activities hosted by Liberty staff members!

Our first Kids Club session, on November 15, featured a musical warm-up, gymnastics demonstrations by our team athletes, handstand & hula hoop contests, coloring, cupcake decorating, goodie bags, and more! The event quickly sold out!

A big thank you goes out to Coach Terri for arranging this wonderful collaboration with The Veranda and for masterfully emceeing the event! Our Liberty athletes (Dom, Brandon, and Savannah) did an awesome job assisting Terri and showing off their gymnastics skills!

At the event, Level 10 gymnast, Dom spoke with passion and eloquence about the importance of gymnastics as a youth sport. Listen to his inspiring speech, here!
